About the new Staff Position – Executive Director

Thanksgiving Church has posted a new staff position titled Executive Director. This is a newly established staff position developed by a transition team in conjunction with Lead Pastor David Witkop, Director of Operations Harold Carlson, and the Church Council. 

The Executive Director position is not a direct replacement for Harold Carlson’s current position. The current Director of Operations role has undergone several modifications over the years based on Harold’s wide range of exceptional giftings and guidance of operations. The Executive Director position will take on a significant portion of functions that have been performed by Harold, along with other functions designed to help guide Thanksgiving’s culture and implementation of future initiatives. The remaining responsibilities of Harold’s current position are being strategically allocated to other existing positions on staff. Harold’s title will change to Director of Finance starting now through his retirement at the end of April 2026. 

The new position is being posted now with the goal of hiring an Executive Director who can join the team early enough to collaborate and learn alongside Harold for an ample period of time.
